Q & A
Here are some typical questions customers ask about the RollerFoot hands-free knee scooter.
Who benefits the most from the RollerFoot hands-free knee scooter?
RollerFoot is designed for people recovering from a foot, ankle or lower-leg injury or procedure who have been instructed to remain non-weight-bearing and want to stay active while keeping both hands available. Because RollerFoot requires balance and coordination, it is best suited for users who are physically able to control the device safely.
What are the benefits or advantages of the RollerFoot compared to a regular steerable knee walker scooter?
Traditional steerable knee scooters support the recovering leg and provide rolling mobility, but require the user to steer with a handlebar. RollerFoot takes a different approach: the recovering lower leg remains supported while the device rolls with the user—without a steering handlebar.
This provides three important advantages: hands-free use, supported rolling mobility, and close work access. RollerFoot is also compact and maneuverable, making it particularly useful around the home, office and other indoor spaces.
What does “Close Work Access” mean?
Traditional knee scooters place a steering column, handlebars and controls in front of the user. RollerFoot has no steering column or handlebar in front of you, allowing you to move closer to counters, desks, equipment and work surfaces while keeping both hands available.
This can make activities such as food preparation, cleaning, office tasks and other close-up work much more practical.
How do you steer the RollerFoot without the handlebar?
RollerFoot is secured to the user’s lower leg, and its casters rotate freely. The user guides the device by moving and pointing the knee and leg in the desired direction rather than steering with the hands.
This allows RollerFoot to change direction easily and maneuver in relatively confined spaces.
Is RollerFoot safe and stable?
RollerFoot is designed to provide stable supported rolling mobility when properly fitted and used as instructed. Users need adequate balance, coordination and physical ability to control the device.
As with any mobility device, users should follow the instructions, become comfortable with RollerFoot gradually, and use appropriate caution for the surroundings and surface conditions.

Why does RollerFoot have no brakes?
RollerFoot does not use a handlebar-mounted braking system because it is a compact, leg-controlled mobility device rather than a steerable scooter with a front steering assembly.
The device is intended primarily for controlled mobility in homes, offices and similar environments, where the user controls movement through the leg and body rather than through handlebars and hand brakes.
Does the RollerFoot have a good cushion under the knee?
RollerFoot uses a cushioned knee platform designed to support the recovering lower leg while the user moves. Comfort varies from person to person. Users should avoid remaining in one position longer than is comfortable and take breaks as needed.
Is RollerFoot height-adjustable?
Yes. RollerFoot can be configured for different adult heights using its available height-adjustment components. When ordering, select the appropriate height range shown on the product page. If you are unsure which configuration is appropriate, contact us before ordering.
Is RollerFoot covered by private medical insurance?
Coverage varies by insurance company and individual plan. Customers generally purchase or rent RollerFoot directly and may then submit their receipt and, when applicable, a prescription or other documentation to their insurer for possible reimbursement. Contact your insurance company to determine whether your particular plan provides reimbursement.
Is RollerFoot covered by Medicare?
RollerFoot is not currently billed directly to Medicare by RollerFoot. Customers should verify any possible reimbursement or coverage directly with Medicare or their applicable plan before ordering.
Do you process medical insurance?
No. RollerFoot does not bill medical insurance companies directly. Customers pay RollerFoot for the purchase or rental and may submit their receipt and, when applicable, a prescription or other documentation to their insurer for possible reimbursement.
Should I rent or purchase a RollerFoot?
That depends mainly on how long you expect to need the device.
Rental can make sense for a shorter recovery period. Purchasing may be more economical for longer-term use, multiple procedures, or if you expect to use RollerFoot again.
